One of my goals for the new year is to update Solitary Analog every week, even when I may not have a fully formed article to put up (not that many of the earlier articles were terribly fully formed). One game has been dominating my time as of late: Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Playing a racing game is unusual for me, but I figured I needed a break from third-person open-world action games after playing about a half dozen of them in the last few months. Ironically, my favorite part of Need for Speed has been driving around in the Shelby Cobra, which let’s me mentally roleplay as Sean Devlin, the protagonist from the Saboteur (a third-person, open-world action game).  I pretend that the Lambourgini’s racing against me are all driven by time-traveling fascists sent into the future by Il Duce to conquer the world through street racing.
